John 15:1-8 THE TRUE VINE
Through these verses about the true vine, I can see the wisdom of why the Lord chose the vine as the tree with which to compare
Himself, and us as the branches.
We are part of the body of Christ, the branches. The branches are what bear the grapes that make the wine. Wine also represents
His blood and sacrifice on the cross. It can also represent the Holy Spirit and the happiness and joy we receive for our strength.
“The joy of the Lord is your strength” As Jesus shed His blood for us on the cross and died, so we are called
to “die daily” as the Apostle Paul said.
These scriptures inspired me to receive these words from the Master that I will treasure forever and also led to respond with
my own prayer.
My child, Yes, I am that true vine that has grown up from a seed. As a seed, I was planted in this earth by my Father. I died
for you, as a seed falls to the ground and dies, otherwise it abides alone.
I died and grew into a tall vine that allowed all of my children to become part of Me as my branches. Just as I died as the
seed so I can plant myself as the Word in the hearts of mankind, so you must die to yourself in order to bring the life of
my Words to others.
As the husbandman takes away that which is unfruitful, and purges those that they may bear more fruit, so are my unfruitful
branches taken away by the Father if they do not bear fruit and the fruitful ones purged that they may bring forth more fruit..
My wish is for you to be a fruitful branch, therefore have I given you the secret to bearing much fruit for Me. This secret
is to become clean through my Word, and abide in Me.
You become clean and pure through my Word by the constant flow of my Words into your spirit. You must take the time to dive
into my Word daily, at every opportunity.
You should strive for that time to spend with Me, my precious one, as you cannot bear fruit of yourself. You cannot do the
tasks I ask of you without Me. Anything else would be merely dead works, and will have to be burned in the fire as wood, hay
Then, and only then is My Word made alive to you, for My Words are Spirit and they are Life.
Only then will My Words become alive to you as I answer the deepest, innermost requests of your heart. You will then feel
that joy unspeakable, and find My Glory. You will have found that deep communion of heart to heart that I seek to have with
you, my beloved child.
This is how I will lead you and guide you through all of your days. This is how you will have become one of My disciples,
and will truly be a fruitful vine as you lead others to Me, the true vine.
Oh, Master, Lord and Lover of my soul. I thank you for this precious love you have bestowed upon me that you should call me
your child. I often wonder, “What am I that you should be mindful of me and even visit me? What manner of love have
you bestowed upon me that I should be called a son of God? Oh please do help me to yield my thoughts, my heart, my tongue,
my ears and all of my faculties to thee, Oh Lord, for you are worthy of all of my love!
I am not worthy for you to come under my roof, but I know you have but to say the word and my heart will be healed, and I
will be fruitful.
How can I even appear before you? I need your cleansing power, I need your healing power, and I need you so much to be in
me and with me wherever I go.
I want to be a fruitful branch for you. There are so many who walk in darkness everyday of their lives. Groping about in sadness
and despair they wander aimlessly in a world full of greed and hate.
Many people are wandering in spiritual darkness without the light of truth to show them the way. Please use me to help bring
them the True Light that lights everyone who comes into the world.
As you delivered me from a life of worldliness and transformed me by your power to sit together with you in heavenly places,
please, please help me to go forth bearing your precious seeds and sow them in tears that I may come again with rejoicing
bringing the sheaves with me to present before You.
You promised a crown of life to those who endure unto the end, but I only desire the crown that I may cast it before your
feet, as you are the one who will be crowned with many crowns. You are the Good Shepherd, the Rock of all Ages, and you abide
with me and I in you. I hear your voice, open the door and invite your presence to be in me always, as you sup with me and
I with You, Oh True Vine.
Even though I ride the wings of the morning, or dwell in the depths of the sea, you will always be there to love and guide.
Your presence, Oh Lord, will always be my support. I can never go away from you.
By yielding to you and abiding in you so I can bear fruit for your Kingdom, I can also ride with you, as you take me away
to walk with you in the halls of freedom. You take my hand and lead me where you want me to go. You break me, mold me and
then use me like you never used me before. Forgive me for the times that I have strayed so far from you, oh Lord. Uplift me
in your Spirit that I may always be close to you. For you are the True Vine.
We die daily in the trials and tribulations, temptations and sacrifices we make for You, Lord.
Just as the honey comb has to be squeezed to get the honey to come out, so our lives have to be squeezed in order to bring
forth the sweetness. Just as a flower must be pressed and crushed for the perfume to flow forth, so our hearts, at times,
are pressed and crushed in order to bring forth the beautiful fragrance which may greatly influence the lives of others in
a positive way.
As Moses hit the rock and the water gushed forth, so our lives, at times, must be smitten and bruised in order for the pure
waters to flow out to the thirsty souls.
Lord, help me not to fight your crushing, Your bruising, that cause the waters of life to burst forth to refresh needy
souls. Help me not to resist Your squeezing of my life to let the sweetness of your Spirit nourish the spiritually hungry.
Lord, help me not to prevent Your pressing and crushing of my heart, so you may bring forth the sweet fragrance of suffering
that may be a help and encouragement to those who suffer. For in these gifts and blessings in disguise, my light affliction
which is but for a moment works for me a more excellent weight of eternal glory, springing forth unto eternal life.
Let me bring forth fruit for Your kingdom!
